Educator, consultant, actress, writer, model, and poet ODESSA CLEVELAND is a native of Louisiana. Her innate artistry covers a wide variety of successes, with some in the television (General Hospital, Sanford and Son The Greatest American Hero) and the stage world. Beginning as a receptionist and writer at the Watts Writer's Workshop/Theater under the auspices of Budd Shulberg, she soared to artistic, thespian prominence as the star of George Bernard Shaw's Black Girl in Search of God at Jim Wood's Studio Watts Theater. Many reruns of M*A*S*H have featured her as 'Nurse Ginger;'later she was seen as Sister Margaret in James Baldwin's Amen Corner. Recently she was seen in the film Death and Cremation.
